Cook From Scratch Programme

At The Ours Project, our mission is to empower individuals and communities with the confidence, skills, and knowledge to cook nutritious, delicious, and budget-friendly meals — all from the comfort of their own kitchens. Through our flagship initiative, K2 Kitchen: Cook from Scratch, we provide inclusive, age-friendly workshops designed for everyone — from first-time cooks to budding home chefs — to learn how to prepare wholesome everyday meals or even recreate their favourite takeaway dishes.

We believe that good food should be accessible to all. That’s why we deliver our programs through local community centres, schools, and colleges, ensuring that learning to cook becomes a joyful, accessible, and empowering experience for every member of the community.

Our vision is rooted in sustainability, self-reliance, and shared responsibility. By collaborating with local authorities, food producers, charities, and community organisations, we aim to build a resilient, community-driven food network.

From cultivating local parks and allotments to working with food banks and youth centres, we strive to create a system that supports diverse dietary and cultural needs while celebrating seasonal, locally grown ingredients.

Together, we can build stronger, healthier communities — one meal, one lesson, one connection at a time.
